Welcome to Lenape Valley Basketball

Lenape Valley Basketball Association (LVBA) is a community recreation basketball program for boys and girls in grades 2 through 8 from Netcong, Stanhope, and Byram. We exist to give every kid a place to learn the game, be part of a team, and have fun doing it — regardless of experience level. Our program is built and run by volunteers from the community: parents, coaches, and local residents who want our kids to grow up playing together. Players who start with us in second grade often stay through eighth, where they learn far more than basketball — teamwork, healthy competition, and lasting friendships with their classmates.

What We're About

Recreation basketball should be about development, not just wins. Our coaches focus on teaching the game the right way and making sure every player gets meaningful time on the floor.

Everybody plays. Playing time is a priority in every division — this is rec ball, not travel.
Fundamentals first. Ball handling, passing, shooting form, defensive footwork, and understanding spacing.
Sportsmanship always. Respect for teammates, opponents, officials, fans and the towns that host us.
Community-built. Volunteer coaches from Netcong, Stanhope, and Byram run every team.
Fun is the point. If kids leave the season wanting to play again next year, we did our job.

Who Can Play

LVBA is open to students in grades 2 through 8 who live in or attend school in Netcong, Stanhope, or Byram. Players are placed by current school grade. No tryouts, no cuts — every registered player is placed on a team or in the clinic.
